FetchLine vs. Jobber's AI Receptionist: Which Fits Your Trade Business?
If you already run your business on Jobber, you've probably seen its AI receptionist add-on. If you don't, you may be weighing it against other options. Both FetchLine and Jobber's Receptionist answer calls when you can't, but they're built for different kinds of owners. Here's a fair look at how they differ, so you can pick the one that fits how you work.
Jobber's Receptionist details were checked on September 25, 2026 from Jobber's own pricing page and help centre. Pricing and features change, so confirm current terms with Jobber before deciding.

The Short Version
- Jobber's Receptionist is a low-cost, self-serve add-on for businesses that already run their scheduling, quotes and invoicing in Jobber. You set it up yourself from your Jobber account.
- FetchLine is a done-for-you AI receptionist. We build and tune the call flow for your trade, it books into the calendar you already use, and you don't need to adopt any job-management software.
How Jobber's Receptionist Works
According to Jobber, its Receptionist answers calls and texts 24/7, answers questions about your business, creates work requests, and books visits into your Jobber schedule using your existing online booking settings. It can escalate specific inquiries to a team member by text or call transfer, and it logs conversations with summaries, transcripts and recordings. Jobber says it's available in Canada as well as the US and UK.
Setup is self-serve: the Receptionist draws on the services, request forms and booking settings already in your Jobber account, and admins adjust it from a dashboard.
Cost: Jobber's pricing page lists the Receptionist as a $29 USD/month add-on. Its help centre describes a monthly conversation allowance with a per-conversation charge beyond it, and says the Receptionist stops responding if usage is paused at a limit. We saw different allowance figures on different Jobber pages, so check the current number with Jobber. The add-on sits on top of a Jobber plan, and Jobber's plans are priced in USD, starting at $49 USD/month for its entry plan on its pricing page.
How FetchLine Works
FetchLine is built for owner-operators who don't want to become software administrators. You tell us about your services, service area, hours, the questions you want asked, and which calls count as urgent. We build Alexis's call flow around that, test it, and you're typically live in about 72 hours.
When you can't pick up, Alexis answers, asks trade-specific questions, books into Google Calendar, Outlook, iCloud or Calendly, and texts you the job details. Urgent calls can be routed straight to you. Want to change something later? Email us and we make the change.
Cost: Starter is $199 CAD/month for up to 100 answered calls. Standard is $350 CAD/month for up to 200 answered calls and adds Google review requests after every job, follow-up texts on unanswered quotes, and appointment reminders. Both plans include a monthly results report. Both have a $100 one-time setup fee, are billed in Canadian dollars, and have no contract. If Alexis doesn't book at least one job in your first 30 days, your second month is free.
Side by Side
- Software you need: Jobber requires a Jobber plan. FetchLine works with the calendar you already have.
- Setup: Jobber is self-serve from your account. FetchLine is built and tested for you.
- Changes after launch: In Jobber you edit the settings yourself. With FetchLine you email us and we handle it.
- Calls and texts: Jobber's Receptionist handles both calls and texts. FetchLine focuses on answering and booking phone calls, with SMS job summaries sent to you.
- Price: Jobber's add-on is much cheaper on its own ($29 USD/month plus your Jobber plan, with a usage allowance). FetchLine is $199 CAD/month (up to 100 calls) or $350 CAD/month (up to 200 calls, plus review requests, quote follow-ups and appointment reminders), with setup and ongoing changes handled for you.
- Busy months: Jobber's help centre describes a per-conversation charge once you pass your monthly allowance, and says the Receptionist stops responding to calls and texts if usage is paused at a limit. FetchLine's call limits are built with room to spare: if you go over in a busy month, Alexis keeps answering, with no overage fees and no cut-off. If it keeps happening month after month, we talk about moving up a plan.
- Currency: Jobber lists prices in US dollars. FetchLine bills in Canadian dollars, so there's no exchange-rate swing on your bill.
Which One Fits You?
Jobber's Receptionist is probably the better fit if you already run your whole business in Jobber, you're comfortable configuring software yourself, and keeping monthly cost as low as possible matters most.
FetchLine is probably the better fit if you don't use Jobber (or don't want to move your business into new software), you'd rather have someone build and maintain the call handling for you, and you want your trade's questions and urgent-call rules set up properly from day one.
